1. Acknowledgment of Risk

TapStar is a decentralized, skill-based Web3 application operating on the Base blockchain. By depositing funds into the smart contract ("Hand") and participating in matches, you acknowledge that you are interacting with experimental technology. You accept full responsibility for any financial risks associated with playing.

2. Real Money Play

The stakes placed in PvP matches represent real cryptocurrency (ETH). Once a match is initiated, your stake is locked. The winner receives the pot minus a 10% protocol fee. In the event of a disconnect or network failure during a match, your stake may be forfeited to the opponent. Ensure you have a stable internet connection before playing.

3. Age & Jurisdiction

By creating an account, you confirm that you are of legal age to participate in real-money skill-based gaming in your jurisdiction, and that accessing this application does not violate your local laws.

4. No Liability

The creators and operators of TapStar are not liable for any losses incurred due to smart contract bugs, exploit attacks, frontend errors, blockchain network congestion, or user error.

1. Fund Your Hand

TapStar uses the Base blockchain. Connect your MetaMask or Web3 wallet. Click + DEPOSIT to move ETH from your Wallet into your in-game Hand. Your Hand balance is what you use to enter matches.

2. The Rules of Combat

Both players face off on a 12x12 grid for 30 seconds.

• Tap Faster: Tap your button as fast as you can. 1 Tap = 1 Cell claimed.
• Steal Territory: You will overwrite neutral cells first, then begin stealing your opponent's cells.
• Win the Pot: The player with the most cells when the timer hits zero wins the entire pot (minus a 10% network fee).

3. Game Modes

• Quick Match: Random matchmaking with a fixed 0.001 ETH stake.
• Private Room: Generate a 6-letter code to invite a friend with a custom stake amount.
• VS Computer: Free practice mode against AI. No wallet required.

4. Withdrawals & Cooldowns

You can withdraw your ETH back to your wallet at any time. However, to prevent sore losers from front-running the blockchain settlement, there is a strict 5-Minute Cooldown placed on your funds after any match or deposit. You must wait 5 minutes before withdrawing.
